Running a failed congressional campaign is Shawn Harris's dream job. It allows him to do his three favorite things:
1.) Spend donor money on himself,
2.) Attack Democrats, and
3.) Give speeches to donors about how "this time, it will be different".
He's done it before, and he's trying to do it again.
Will Democratic donors be fooled again?
Shawn Harris is a grifter and a fraud.
How do we know?
First of all, it’s right there on his LinkedIn page. It’s still up as of today, 5/19/25:
Shawn clearly states his goal is to live and work in Atlanta as an executive, board member or public speaker. He’s using his congressional run simply to increase his speaking fees.
What qualifications does he have as a speaker?
Well, as a failed congressional candidate, he spent $55,000 of donations meant to be used to turn out Democratic votes against MTG and instead spent it on himself for speech coaching.
Additionally, his best friend and campaign advisor is Marcus Flowers, who ran against MTG in 2022.
Flowers took $650,000 of donor money that was supposed to be used against MTG and instead took it and ran against incumbent Democrat David Scott in a completely different congressional district, also with disastrous results. He didn’t even make a runoff in the Democratic primary, coming in a distant 3rd.
Shawn is a liar.
How do we know?
Shawn told everyone he could beat MTG, but failed miserably. TWICE.
First, he came in 2nd place in the Democratic primary. A quirk of GA election law is that if no candidate reaches 50% +1 of the vote, a runoff takes place.
In the Democratic runoff, Shawn spent $300,000 of donor money to be used against MTG and spent it on negative mailers full of poorly written outright lies about the Democratic candidate who beat him.
Even after that massive spend, he barely won the runoff by 4,000 votes.
Then, after spending $2,000,000 of donor money on expensive dinners, travel, and DC consultants, and saying publicly that if Joe Biden came to Atlanta, he would not even meet with them because his DC consultant told him not to, Shawn failed to move the needle at all, only pulling 35% against MTG.
In fact, unlike Marcus Flowers, Shawn failed to carry a single county in the 10 county district. He lost ALL 10. But like Flowers, the leftover money in the campaign account was quietly moved into PAC and disappeared.
Shawn STILL thinks being Republican-Lite will get him votes.
This month, Shawn said he was going to run again, and the only thing he was going to do differently was attack Democratic candidates harder.
He loves talking about how all of his Republican friends encouraged him to run. He loves saying how Republicans thank him for running against MTG. He loves attacking Democrats with outrageous lies every chance he gets.
And he wants to do it all over again, expecting a different result.
Republicans will NEVER vote for Democrats and they’ll NEVER vote for Republican-Lite. Extremism is their brand. The best you can hope for is that they will simply leave the ballot blank if they don’t like their Republican choice.
Seriously ask yourself: would you ever vote for a Republican against even a mediocre Democrat? If not, then why does Shawn expect to gain any significant Republican votes?
It’s delusion at best, but more likely just another one of his outright lies. One that he sells with stories about his Republican friends that he learned from his $55,000 donor-funded speech class.
Shawn is disloyal.
After Wendy Davis backed Shawn’s disastrous run against MTG and was the main reason he did well in Floyd County, Shawn repaid the favor by stabbing her in the back and twisting the knife.
Wendy Davis ran for Democratic Party of Georgia chair, and Shawn whipped votes for her rival, Charlie Bailey.
Shawn is a fake farmer and a fraud.
Shawn is a fake farmer with a fake farm that was stage-managed from top to bottom for his congressional run.
How do we know it’s fake, other than the tractor that doesn’t have a scratch on it, or the dozens of videos he posts with his pet cows?
Democratic leadership has been asking Shawn to run for Agriculture Commissioner in Georgia, and Shawn dismissively rebuffed them.
In summary:
Shawn uses every chance he can to attack Democrats and cozy up to Republicans.
Shawn uses donations meant to beat MTG and instead uses it to further his own goals of being a professional speaker or board member.
Shawn spends donations on wasteful campaign bloat that didn’t win a single county and only yielded a mid-30’s percentage, exactly the same as in 2022.
If there’s one thing we’ve learned, there needs to be consequences for bad candidates doing bad things.
Donate your hard-earned money to ANY Democratic candidate OTHER than Grifter and Liar Shawn Harris.
We need to get MTG out of office and Shawn can’t do it.
He’s proven that over and over.
